Honeyeater's Last Stand

Outdoor company Coleman has teamed up with Taronga Zoo in an attempt to save an
endangered native bird, the regent honeyeater, from complete extinction.
There are only an estimated 1500 regent honeyeaters left in the wild, which makes the zoo’s attempt to release 28 birds from their successful regional breeding program particularly important. Coleman has assisted the attempt by providing tents to act as protective shelters for the birds before they’re released back into the wild.
“Coleman is all about being outdoors and enjoying the natural beauty of Australia. We are very proud to support an initiative which potentially saves some of our native wildlife,” said Robert Dempsey, marketing manager from Coleman Australia. Several batches of the birds have now been successfully released.
