Performance: they're the leader in the field for a reason: they work. The fit (tight) means maximum warmth close to the body but also means - with merino generally holding moisture rather than wicking it away (but staying warm) - a better transfer of the moisture through to the atmosphere. I find that if the merino garments are looser, the fact that the material isn't next to the source of heat for evaporation (your body), it takes longer to dry. So for me, when I go merino, I go tight. This is where the Ice Breaker 200+ is a, ahem, perfect fit. The 200+ is a good choice for shoulder seasons - crisp mornings autumn and spring, and edging into the colder stuff. But be sure to upweight for winter. This limited edition print series is meant to throw a fashion angle against the utilitarian mix. I wasn't a fan of the seventies-esque print shown to begin with, but like a bad disco themed party, it grew on me as the wearing wore on. Besides - it's a base layer. It goes under things.

Feel: Soft, stretchy and comfortable.

Materials: 100% New Zealand merino. You can even trace where the donor sheep lives by entering the baacode on you item of clothing into the website.

Made in: China
